The trucks are coming! Trucks of all sizes, ages and makes will be seen and heard at the Grand Bend Big Rig National Truck Show, Saturday, August 28 and Sunday August 29. at the Grand Bend Motorplex, highway 81, south of Grand Bend. Show & Shine, 'Wash & Park, Trade Show, Drag Races plus the Saturday evening entertainment will make for an fun and exciting weekend.

The Big Rig Show co-sponsors are Truck News, Truck and Trailer, and highway Star. Robar Training Specialist present Saturday evening's entertainment featuring the “Nowhere Road” Band.

Sparkling clean and polished trucks will participate in the 'Show & Shine' and be judged in more than 20 classes. For truckers who do not wish to take part in 'Show & Shine' there is 'Wash & Park'.

Truck Drag Races, is an opportunity for those wishing to see what their rigs will do on the ¼ mile. Participants times will be determined Saturday evening during time trails. In the official race should participants face a vehicle that ran faster or slow in the time trials, the race computer will calculate the difference and give the slower vehicle a 'head start' equal to the difference.

In addition to Big Rig racing, the weekend will also feature the regular 'Test & Tune' Friday evening, On Saturday the line-up includes the Thunder & Junior Series with cars, bikes and the Junior Dragsters plus the Ontario Nostalgia Drag Racers with cars 1974 or older. Saturday evening will be the time trials for the Official Big Rig Nationals Truck Drags.

Following Saturday evening Big Rig 'Test & Tune', the Nowhere Band, who broke into the country scene in 2008, will take to the stage. The band's standout tracks like 'Nowhere Road', 'Harley Day' and 'Copperline Hills' having been dominating radio airwaves far and wide.

The Big Rig weekend will provide fun, excitement and thrills for participants and truck enthusiasts at the Show geared for the trucking industry.

The gates open Friday at noon for Trade Show, Show & Shine, Wash & Park. Friday's 'Test & Tune' begin at 6 pm. On Saturday gates open at at 9 am, racing starts at 11am. On Sunday gates opens at 9 am, and the official Big Rig Nationals racing begins at 11am

Friday's gate admission is $5, Saturday or Sunday - $15, Weekend pass - $30. Kids under 12 -$3 per day.

Sparkling clean and polished trucks will participate in the 'Show & Shine' competition. Each truck will be judged in more than 20 classes. Classes include tractor, straight, tractor-trailer, fleet, dump truck, fleet and single light display. Pre- registration is available until August 13 or register at the gate.

'Wash & Park' is for the truckers to busy to devote the necessary time polishing and shining getting ready for Show & Shine judging, but still wish to be part of the Show, can wash their rigs and hammer down to the Big Rig. Rigs will not be check to see if they have been recently washed.

Trade Show sites are available in 3 different sizes. Planned displays will include recruiting areas, the latest in industry equipment, products and services and miscellaneous displays.

Grand Bend Big Rig Truck Show – 2010

            The 2010 Grand Bend Big Rig Truck Show will be held Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29, at the Grand Bend Motorplex, Grand Bend, Ontario.  Friday, August 27 is set-up day for Show & Shine contestants, Wash & Park participants and the Trade Show vendors/exhibitors.

            Show & Shine contestants will be judged by a team of judges, who select the best truck and runner-up in each of the 20 plus classes.  Wash & Park is an opportunity for truckers to display their rigs without entering the Show & Shine competition.  Outdoor trade show spaces are available in 3 sizes. full story...
